Building your app
DNS
DNS, short for domain name system, is the internet's address book: it turns the web address people type into the location of the server that runs your app.
Also called domain name system, DNS records
Most founders only meet DNS when connecting a custom domain or email. Each record, added where you bought the domain, answers one question, such as where the site lives or which service may send your mail. One typo can break the site or the email while everything else looks fine.
When this shows up
Example, not a real founder: your app opens on its new address, but your sign-up emails land in spam. The email service asked for extra DNS records that prove you own the domain, and nobody added them.
What to do next
Open your domain's DNS settings page and compare each record, character by character, with what your host and your email service asked for.
