Building your app
Hosting
Hosting is the rented computer that keeps your app online, and if you build with an app builder, hosting is often included until you move the app somewhere else.
Also called web hosting
A host stores your app's files and answers every visitor who opens your link. Builders that publish for you usually host the app on their own servers. If you export your code or outgrow the builder, you need hosting of your own. Check what your current plan includes.
When this shows up
Example, not a real founder: you built a booking app inside a builder and want a developer friend to add a feature. They ask where the app is hosted. The honest answer is the builder, and the builder decides what you can move and what it costs to stay.
What to do next
Open your builder's billing or plan page and write down two things: whether hosting is included, and what happens to your live app if you stop paying.
