Getting in front of people

First-Channel Finder

Trying five channels at once is doing zero properly. One channel, picked for you.

what it decides

The one channel your users are actually in, a two-week plan, and a kill criterion.

what they asked

“Invoice reconciliation tool for freelance bookkeepers, matching bank transactions to client invoices. Founder is a solo developer, 4 months post-launch. Tried X for two months (about 40 followers, mostly other builders, zero replies from an actual bookkeeper). 8 hours a week available, about 200 dollars a month distribution budget.”

what came back

Four months in, with two months of tweeting into a room where the following is other builders, not bookkeepers, and that silence is starting to feel like proof of being bad at marketing. That read is what is about to end the effort, not the actual room the founder chose.

FAQ

What if I genuinely cannot tell where my users are?

That is the normal starting state, not a special problem. The answer comes from the shape of the user (who has this pain, what they search, where they complain about it), not from a ranking of platforms.

How do I know if it is the channel or my execution?

The two-week checkpoint separates them. No replies at all usually means the angle or the room is wrong, and replies without follow-up means the pain is real but the credibility is not there yet. Follow-ups that do not convert point at the product page, not the channel.

My audience is on multiple platforms. Why only one?

Because your job is not coverage, it is signal: one channel run properly tells you something true in two weeks, and five channels run thinly tell you nothing in two months. The second channel comes after the first one reliably starts conversations.
