Building your app
Payments
To take payments in your app, you connect a payment provider that handles the card details, through a checkout link on the web or the app store's own billing.
Also called payment processing
The provider takes the card and tells your app the payment worked, usually through a webhook. Never store card numbers yourself. App stores often require their own billing for digital goods inside a native app, and take a fee.
When this shows up
Example, not a real founder: you add a payment button and test it with your own card. The money arrives, but your app never unlocks the paid features. The provider's webhook was never connected to your app.
What to do next
Run one full test purchase in your provider's test mode, from button to unlocked account. Write down each step that needed a manual fix.
