Building your app
Database
A database is an organized store where your app keeps its information, such as users, orders and messages, so it can find and change them later.
Also called DB
Think of it as linked spreadsheets your app reads and writes by itself. Many databases use SQL, short for structured query language, a way of asking for exactly the rows you need. Rules you set decide who can read which rows. Loose rules can show one customer's private data to another.
When this shows up
Example, not a real founder: a user emails to say they can see another customer's order. The database rules let any logged-in person read every order, not just their own.
What to do next
List each table in your database and write next to it who should be able to read it. Ask your builder's support or a developer to check that the rules match that list.
